Lo everyone. It was the my intention that the wifey and myself would be running a hospitality and contrabando tent (read house of ill repute of all flavours). We got the confirmation from Mr P that we could have a burgundian tent to stick in the trade area to use.

Well, as luck would have it I have one court summons and another imminent for speeding offences (both of which I am contesting) but due to lack of money and the fact legal aid doesn't extend to motor offences I'm having to represent myself. twice.

The first one is 2nd of April so unfortunately a lot of my attention will be occupied by this farce. I was hoping that because we don't have the money would we have enough props between us all to make the tent still viable, else I'll have to tell Matt P that we no longer can use it.

Any ideas/comments? All help gratefully received.

What are you going to need?
If you put together a wish list, we'll see what's possible.

Is the size of the burgundian the same a the Gnoll one?

If so I think we can help, what kinda things are you after?

I know I have some persian rugs, and tankards, and some nick naks.

(and sorry to hear about your woes, I have had similar things before, getting pulled over with no paper work, tax, mot, or insurance...)

Argh Dog, that sucks! Sad

Yup, it's the same size as the Gnoll one. The decor is up to Tori (and she'll murderise me for 'outsourcing' help) but I do know we were going for something themed like this at http://www.bedouintents.com/ (pics 6 and 13). Tori wanted a hookah to which we can supply the flavoured tabaco that goes in them.

Time and materials permitting, we were going to knock up a fake chez longue (spell check) with lockable storage concealled in/underneath it.

I'll draw up the wishlist, it'll probably be easier. The main things are throws, wall hangings, floor coverings and possibly pillows/cushions with the Hookah being the main piece. Also props for contrabando consumption (tournequettes, perhaps a brutal looking syringe without the needle etc).

Lovely ladies wanting to dress sexy to help furnish the place and look stunning will also be welcome (good job Tori doesn't check this forum much) Wink

And no Dog, you're not a lady. I've seen the bra picture.

I have an excellent mashup of the benny hill theme mixed with 50 Cent's In Da Club. It works REALLY well. So well in fact I play it whilst charging into comabt in WoW.

But I digress...

I ran an IC pub for all of last year, I only stopped because of catching the Deads, feel free to pick my brain on the subject, however , these tips I'll give you now.

Secure storage, you can never have enough locks, chains, chests, etc. Talk to me about a getting a 'Holdfast', this is anchor that cannot be pulled up or removed, for chaining stuff to.

Have a quiet back room, for your customers to get stoned in if they wish

Get the girls in, my barmaid got more tips then my potboy

Table service pays better then bar service

Keep your prices simple, stick to one coinage, what I did was deal in Kyat, people could pay in other currences and I would convert it into Kyat (at a extortionate rate) and give them the change in Kyat (riel) so they didn't know how much I was ripping them off.

Hope this helps

What an interesting picture of the colonies (and life in general) this gives: "Give the lazy arses something pretty to look at and they won't care how much they're spending".

s to hanging about looking pretty I or at least me in my new dresses may be able to manage that some of the time. I guess of course it depends on what in the way of costume you want the ladies in.

Other than that I can have a look arround and see if I have anything that may be of any use although I may wait till this wish list is up.
