weaverite player event

okay guys... i've been having some ideas about running a weaverite player event, but i'm still not sold that i can come up with enough stuff to fill a weekend.

I'm thinking about setting a series of challenges over the weekend that each have a variety of ways to solve them, combined with socialising and "getting to know you" periods and then asking each participant at the end of the event to write a one page letter describing what the goddess means to them and their interpretation of it, then publishing the book of compiled letters as an ic book of "anon. letters to the goddess" at the events.

I think i need to develop these ideas

Having run a couple of player events now my experience of them is that in a long winter break players like to get together and just talk also that in general one day is enough.
Last year I ran an event which was lunchtime saturday through to early saturday morning with ooc arrival on Friday for those who wanted it (similar to what the Flembics did this year)
This year we were IC Friday night till early hours of Saturday morning.

For both events I planned activities which encouraged activity between the different people at the event and hopefully gave people who didn't have a reason to talk a chance to talk.

I was alot less happy with the event this year as I felt that there was more time with people sat around doing nothing though feedback seems to indicate the other players didn't feel that.

the kind of things you are suggesting sound good to me though if you can get people to help out both IC and OOC so you are not doing eveything would be wise.

Where abouts are you planning to run it and do you know you have a core base of people wanting to come?
