recently ive been very busy trying to sort out a drastic new change in my life. so much so ive had little time for anything else. but i was wondering if any of you might know any contacts who work in any way with animals that i might be able to contact who i could see about trying to get some more experience with. its the one are in my new lifestyle im struggling with. ill explain more tonnight when i have free time.

It depends what kind of experience with animals. I know plenty of farmers in north yorkshire if thats any help.

Depends what sort of animals your talking about. eg most zoos take on volunteers as do most rescue centres ranging from those who deal with abandoned pets to those who deal with British wildlife some of whom specialise in a specific species. If you were thinking of it as a job then volunteer work is a great way to find out if your suited to it.

the farmers might be very usefull actualy. im going for veterinary at nottingham in a couple of years and im looking to gain as much experience with as wide a range of animal based work as possible. vets, zoos, farms, shelters everything really. as much as i can manage over the next two years whilst i finish my degree so anything that anyone might have. a name of someone they know in a buisness or somewhere that you have heard of is particularly good. im trying to find as much as possible on my own but any help with it is of course apreciated. *sigh* new lifestyle is hard Razz

also any obscure areas that i might have missed that anyone can think of please mention them. ive already aplied for shadowing a vet at an abattoir but any other different area like labs or suchlike that normally might be difficult to find or get into would be great.

They presumably have vets to issue Beechams to all those turkeys.

Could volunteer with the local cats protection, they normally need someone to help catch feral cats.

Sometimes these cats are re-homed and sometimes they catch them, have them neutered, get them vaccinated and then release them again as they don't have the room to foster them.

done the exam and feel like it went well. i certainly couldnt have tried any harder so i have no regrets. defra have interesting rules but their mostly, i say mostly, their for a good reason
